"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and...let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith...so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

What a bone marrow transplant looks like

For those of you who don't know a bone marrow transplant can be as exciting as getting fluids in an IV bag.  Some of you may think she is in surgery and it is this delicate dance of knifery in a surgeons hand.  I'm sorry to disappoint but this is far from the case.

LPCH likes to think of this as Becky's birthday as she is getting new life.  So drop a quick comment below and wish her a happy birthday :)

If you're curious on what it looks like look at click on the link below and see:

  2. Happy Birthday Becky!
I'm a little embarrassed for thinking this was going to be surgery... even AFTER reading your mom's description of the process :P
But the whole process seems pretty cool. Think of all the little stem cells circulating through your veins just looking for a home in one of your bones.

  9. Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!! The transplant went really well yesterday; it was totally uneventful, which is exactly what they hope for.

Wendy and Shannon, now I understand our inexplicable connection. Wendy, we have our movie preferences/scrapbooking skills, etc. and Shannon, we have our popcorn/peanut butter obsession/Seattle days, and so forth. All because I was destined to be A+...it all makes sense now...

    Love you guys :)
